Book Salon, admission included, 300:-. Forbidden Thoughts by Erik Andersson. Have you ever had a thought you've cringed over? You're not alone. We all sometimes get thoughts we don't want - images and impulses that pop up out of the blue and just as quickly disappear. Psychologist and researcher Erik Andersson examines why some thoughts start to be seen as exposures to who we are, rather than temporary mental static. When does a thought become evidence - and what happens when we start treating our inner world as something ominous? Based on psychological research and historical examples from the 19th century and beyond, it is shown that it is not the content of our thoughts that create suffering, but how we interpret them, and what we believe they say about us. The conversation revolves around what everyone thinks, but few dare to say out loud.
Author Erik Andersson is a licensed psychologist and docent at Karolinska Institutet, known for making complex psychology understandable to a wide audience. He combines research, clinical work and popular education and is also known to many as the psychologist in the SVT series Compulsive Tango.
