Guest Performance: New Nordic Poling (DK and more)

New Nordic Poling (NNP) is an association of eight activist pole dancers who are 'polarizing for change'.

The performance is set during NNP's annual recruitment meeting, where the group's self-documented feature film Radikal omfamning is screened. The audience follows along when the movement creates banners, challenges Extinction Rebellion on May Day in Copenhagen's South Harbour and travels to Svalbard to 'pole for the melting pole' – with their new portable pole rod.

In an intimate and lightly interactive setup that combines live action with film screenings, the audience follows NNP's ups and downs. NNP examines power structures and plans actions, but meets unexpected challenges in its activist group work. What does it mean to practice what one preaches? And how does a group become a movement?

New Nordic Poling is about hopelessness, fighting spirits and the search for the (un)possible collective meaning.
